I have my tunemoney card around June 2009. It was an easy procedure, just make an account at tunemoney website. Reload with a minimum of RM 50, and wait for a week. Please select FPX for transaction. It is easier, faster, and cheaper. Only 50 cents per reload and the process only takes less than 5 minutes.
The card will come next to your door, any door after one week. It could be your home, your office, or your hang out place. It depends on the information you provide when you create the account.
When the card comes, activate it by using your account at tunemoney website. When the card is activated, your tunemoney balance will be deducted nearly RM 10. This is a yearly subscription fee. But this one even lower than my CIMB ATM card fee, RM 12 / year.
After you active the card, you can directly use it for almost anything related to money. Shopping with Visa Merchant or even Online shopping. You can even withdraw money from ATM, but wait for your PIN, about one week after activation. Withdrawing money from CIMB ATM only charged RM1.15. Your money will be deducted around RM 10, but the RM 8.85 will return to your card balance after a week.
My first usage was to book a hotel room online. The hotel rates was about RM 300 and I only have to pay 10%. With around RM 50 in my tunemoney, the process was very smooth. Use this card just like a Visa Credit Card. After the booking process was confirmed, my balance only had RM 20 left. It’s OK. At the hotel I pay the remaining rates by cash. Anyway, that online booking saved about RM 180 from promotional rates or about RM 300 from normal rates.

The second time, I used tunemoney card to book e-ticket for KTMB. A minimum RM 20 purchase is required by KTMB and I had to reload my tunemoney by using FPX. No problem at all. The tickets were purchased and my tunemoney balance was deducted.
But before I use the ticket, I decided to cancel the ticket. So I went to nearest station to cancel them. No problem at all, because the ticket was refunded but I had to wait 30 days for my money in tunemoney. It appeared in my balance about two weeks ago.
The third time, I wanted to book another hotel. And here was the problem. My reload process in CIMB and FPX were fine. I received receipts from both parties. I save it (print it by using pdfcreator) so if there is something wrong with the process I can use it. And the problem was there. After receiving the receipts from CIMB and FPX, tunemoney website presented an error on transaction. My tunemoney balance was not updated while my CIMB balance was already deducted. So I directly reported this error to 3 parties, CIMB, FPX, and tunemoney.
It was friday evening, so I expected to have the response on Monday. Monday, CIMB and FPX contacted me and said they would take a look at the banking process. Tuesday tunemoney contacted me and in the evening my balance was updated with the reload. Directly, I used it for hotel booking.
I use the customer service contact number to ask several question about my balance. Especially with historical transaction. It seems that the transaction history is not realtime. So I was surprised when I see my balance was reduced and there was no information on what kind of transaction that used the money. Easy call, only call 03 2179 7333 from any handphone inside Malaysia. Please be prepared with your card number and also your username on tunemoney website. It took about 5 minutes call to confirm the balance, that’s all.
So whenever you get a problem with reload or transaction, just save the receipt/error message in electronic format and send the file to their e-mail, assist@tunemoney.com . My last problem on reload was cleared less then one minute by using this procedure.
This card makes live easier, especially for me. I am not eligible to any Credit Card in Malaysia, but it doesn’t mean I don’t have money. So now, I can use my money easily for any transaction even overseas with this card. My friends also use this card to book Airasia, hotels, and public transportation.
